So I’ve tried waxing cheese, but I’ve also heard of canning cheese. One thing I love about the idea of canning cheese is that I don’t have to check as often and rotate it like my waxed cheese.

My personal philosophy is: DIVERSITY is key when it comes to preparing. For me, this means having several different kinds of food storage (freeze dried, dehydrated, home bottled, store canned, etc), Self-protection, Medical preps and First Aid, and so forth.
My family loves cheese! We use it in so much food we make and just to snack on. The thought of only having powdered cheese in our long term food storage just sounds so…. Blah! So when I learned that you can wax cheese and it can last for years, I was totally on board!
It’s the “ultimate” food storage: BACON!!
What a treat to have in your food storage pantry, don’t you think? What a way to dress up all those beans you’ve stored than to have bacon! I wanted to try canning bacon for months and I was pouring through the different blogs and articles on how to do it.

There are so many lists of things to gather and have on hand in case of an economic crisis, natural disaster, emergency, famine, terrorist attack and any number of things. One effective way to organize and store these various “Prep” items is using buckets and bins.
